Make sure first that before you get on to cooking your chicken barbecue in the oven, the chicken meat has been properly thawed. Soften the meat by soaking it in a sink full of cold water. Leave it thawed for 3 to 4 hours. When the chicken thaws, you can start with your chicken barbecue.

  • Barbecue sauce – 1 cup
  • Pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Kosher salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Drumsticks and thighs
  • Chicken breasts – 1 1/2 – 2 pounds

  1. Cut the chicken into 3 to 4 diagonal slices. Be sure that there are cuts on both sides so that the chicken will be properly cooked and the meat would absorb the barbecue sauce.
  2. Preheat the oven at a temperature of 350 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While doing so, bring a grill pan on a medium high heat and use it for heating the olive oil.
  3. Put salt and pepper to the oil as seasoning. When the grill pan heats up, put the chicken on it and let it cook until both sides are sizzling brown. Then transfer the chicken onto the balking dish.
  4. If you want to avoid having the chicken heavy on calories, skip the 3rd step. Just spread the barbecue sauce directly on the cut pieces of chicken.
