How to Cook Steak on a Gas Grill

  1. All set your steak and always allow it to reach to a room temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit prior to cooking or grilling for great result.
  2. Rinse your steaks properly and trim some excess fats. Since in grilling, fats shrink faster than the meat thus causing your steaks to go curl.
  3. Pat dry your steaks before you season them with your seasoning preferences. Be sure to rub your stake with an amount of olive oil or cooking oil.
  4. Preheat to prepare your grill. Set it to high heat. Brush an amount of oil on your hot grates. Or you can use the trimmed excess fat from your steaks by rubbing them onto your hot grates.
  5. Begin to grill your steaks for one minute then turn and grill on the other side for another one minute. Next, turn and rotate for about 45 degree- position and continue to grill for half of the remaining cooking time. Turn again to continue grilling for the last minutes on the grill. If done skillfully and properly, it would get you perfect grill marks.
  6. To check doneness, in the absence of meat thermometer, you can effortlessly determine it with the use of your index finger by pressing your steak or with the use of the flat side of a grilling fork. If for a rare steak, should be soft. If it’s a medium steak, should be firm. If it’s a well steak, should also be firm. Once doneness is determined, remove your steaks from the grill.
  7. Allow your steaks to rest for about 5 minutes before serving them.
