Step 1: Decide which type of skateboard mini-ramp plan you like. Ready-made mini-ramps are available online at affordable prices but if you prefer making your own, you can sketch a plan.

Step 2: Find a workspace where you want to put up your mini-ramp. A place big enough to allow you to spread your materials out is preferable. You can also work under a shade to keep you going even when the rain pours.

Step 3: Think of how big you want the ramp to be. Make sure that the size is good enough for the place you plan to put it up at. Most mini-ramps are over 2 feet tall and 8 feet wide.

Step 4: Position the ¾ inch plywood on an even surface. Draw a straight line up its right-hand side using a pencil and ruler depending on how high you want your mini-ramp to be. This would usually range from 24 to 28 inches.

Step 5: Draw a line going to the left pointing towards the plywood board’s center, at least measuring 2 feet. This will serve as your deck.

Step 6: at the bottom of the mini-ramp, sketch a straight line about five feet which will serve as your mini-ramp’s base.

Step 7: Connect the deck’s top to the base’s endpoint by using a curved line for the ramp. A half-circle drawing tool will make the curve more accurate.

Step 8: Make the curves smooth while cutting along the lines with the use of a skil-saw. Handle the saw with care.

Step 9: Repeat the steps for the other side.

Step 10: Connect the two sides with the use of 2×4 wood pieces. With the use of wood screws and a power screwdriver, place the 2x4s at intervals close enough to support the mini-ramp.

Step 11: Use a single sheet of 3/8 inch plywood to make the actual mini-ramp section. Bend it to make it fit the curve.

Step 12: Finish and smoothen the rough edges of the mini-ramp with sandpaper. It’s ready for use!

The mini-ramp can be used for skating and bike tricks too. Make sure you have a complete gear on for protection before doing the tricks and stunts. If you are leaving the ramp outdoors, make sure the surface is cement or blocks to avoid the wood from rotting. Paint can protect the wood and smoothen the ramp.

A mini-ramp is something you can create to match your skateboarding experience. These steps will help guide you on how to build a skateboard mini-ramp that is good and sturdy.
