  • Raw shelled peanuts – 1 lb.
  • Water

Materials Needed You’ll Need

  • Container/sealable bag
  • Stove
  • Large pot
  • Three quart crock pan

Crock Pot Method

To get started, pour your raw and shelled peanuts in a large crock pot. Fill the pot with water. Since the peanuts absorb water, you need to constantly fill the pot. Leave them to soak in the pot about 8 hours. Drain your pot afterwards.

Take the peanuts’ skin off and put them back in the crock pot. Refill pot with water adding 4-5 tablespoon of salt in the process. Depending on your preference, you can either add less or more salt. Temperature must be raised to high. Cook for another 90 minutes. Drain peanuts and let them cool for about about 10 minutes before you serve them.

Stove Top Boiling Method

To get started, pour your raw and shelled peanuts in a large pot. Fill the pot with water until it reaches the top. Since the peanuts absorb water, you need to constantly fill the pot. Proceed in adding 4 tablespoons salt to your pot and then stir.

Peanuts should be cooked at high heat. Your pot must be covered and bring your water to a boil. Once it’s boiling, slightly reduce the stove’s heat. Put more water whenever needed. Leave it boiling for about 4 hours. Take a few peanuts from water and let them cool for a while so you can shell them and see the sample whether they’re already cooked as you desired. Remove all peanuts from water when you find them favourable. Let it drain and then cool. Leave them for about 10 minutes before you serve them.
